Community Helpers | VideoKristin Clouston | 11/28/2012
This is the second year Sunrise has brought professionals into the first grade classrooms.
"Just to kind of get a feel of what the job kind of entails and ask their many questions that they have, that they`re curious about, especially at this age," said first grade teacher Angela Fischer.
They`re visiting with a lot of community helpers.
"A police, a fire man, a trash collector, all sorts of stuff," said first grader Ben Hoke.
"I learned officers, they can help people like if they get a broken leg," said first grader Abi Daner.
"Get people away from fires and if they`re naughty get them to jail," said first grader Belle Brekhus.
What do they want to be when they grow up?
"A police officer," said first grader William Hertz.
"A police officer," said Ben.
"The police," said Belle.
It will be a while before we know if they change their minds, but they all say it`s very good to be a community helper.
The kids also still get to chat with a doctor, dentist and veterinarian.
