Economic Development Administration Approves Minot Downtown Grant Request

The Imagine Downtown project in Minot is one step closer to getting a $18 million grant. The grant request was approved by the Economic Development Administration`s Investment Review Committee. There are still steps to take before the grant is awarded. If awarded, the grant will be used for work on the area`s infrastructure.

The total cost for the Imagine Downtown project is $140 million.

"Imagine Downtown is an ambitious effort that will reinvigorate downtown Minot, and this funding is a key part of the project," said Senator John Hoeven. "It will enable Minot to continue to grow and build a bigger, brighter and stronger city than ever before for the future."

The project is a series of business and residential renewal projects in downtown Minot. According to Hoeven, half of the project will consist of low and moderate income housing.
