New Town Shooting Update
| 11/19/2012
A 12-year-old brother was able to call 911.
The New Town school District made the decision late last night to cancel school today. Classes will resume tomorrow, and the school will be bringing in some extra help. Specialized grief counselors will join the school`s regular counseling staff to provide support to both staff and students.
"This is a new situation. We`ve never had this type of situation. We`ve had tragedies within our school system but not of this magnitude, and we`re going to do the best we can with it and hopefully provide as much support as possible," said superintendent Marc Bluestone.
Benjamin Schuster attended the middle school. His younger brother and sister attended the elementary school.
We`ll have more from New Town, including reaction from the people who live there, on the Evening Report.
