| 11/19/2012

According to the North Dakota Attorney General`s office, over 1,000 pounds of drugs collected in the Take Back Program were destroyed last week. The drugs included OxyContin, Codeine and Vicodin. They were destroyed in a controlled burn.

"One milligram at a time, our citizens are making a difference in the fight against prescription drug abuse," said Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.

The program provides free disposal of prescription medications on a "no questions asked" basis. Since 2009 the program has collected almost two tons of unused medications.
