Home Decorating for the Holidays | Video

Ever wonder how your neighbors decorate their homes for the holidays? Many found out during the holiday home walk in Bismarck. All the homes were decorated by local designers. One of the homes featured in the walk was built in the 1950s and was even selected by Better Homes and Gardens for having the most popular floor plan at that time.

Interior designers from Spaces in Bismarck decorated that home for the walk. Designers say people don`t need a big budget to give their home a festive look.

"Throwing a few Christmas ornaments into a glass bowl and pine cones that you can just season it up. You can change artwork on the walls by putting a canvas picture of a pine cone or a snow man," said owner Lisa Bohrer.

Jan Nelson, chair of the home walk said, "It`s really a win-win for the homeowners as well as the merchant because the merchants get to display their stuff in a home setting not just in a store when you go into the store and the homeowners- they have to love Christmas number one and they really this is a huge donation they`re making for the symphony."

The money raised at the walk will benefit the Bismarck Mandan Symphony League. If you know a home that should be featured in next year`s holiday home walk contact the symphony league.
