Rene Thibault | 11/9/2012

The City of Minot is closing its compost sites for the season. Yard waste sites throughout the city will be officially closed this Sunday November 11th. Residents will no longer be able to unload their compost at the ten areas from 9th Street and 22nd Avenue Northwest, to 37th Street and 11th Avenue Southeast.

Yard waste will be picked up with the regular garbage throughout the winter. But the compost sites aren`t the only spots closing for the winter.

“Our HHW, Hazardous Household waste, and they`ll have to wait until spring, until we have our pick up day as usual” said Jason Sorensen, the Assistant Director of Minot Public Works.

Minot Residents will need to hold onto paints, solvents and pesticides until the hazardous waste collection. For all other garbage, winter landfill hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
