It was a big day for Minot International Airport today. Frontier Airline`s Denver to Minot service was ready for take off.

"It`s hard to get a flight from Los Angeles to Minot, North Dakota and I have relatives that I come to visit here," said Frontier passenger Sherrie Nowell.

Nowell can now visit her relatives more often because Frontier is offering a non stop service into Minot. The 99 seat aircraft features low cost fairs to Denver to Minot.

"Just the expansion overall and getting additional services, we fly Airbus Aircraft, so most are regional jets that come into Minot, so giving passengers the opportunity to get full service while their on the flight with a full cabin," said Frontier CRM & Loyalty Director Crissy Davis.

With the increased amount of air traffic, Minot International is hoping that Frontier Airlines is here to stay.

"There`s a history here, they`ve flown in and out of Minot in the past and they pulled out back in the 90s for whatever reason, probably financial, but we`re glad to have them back because it provides more options for our passengers," said Airport Director, Andy Solsvig.

"I can actually visit my aunt and uncle even more now so I`m excited about that," said Nowell.

The new flights provide access to fifteen additional destinations throughout the West including Los Angeles, Seattle and San Francisco.

Minot International hopes that this new airline will be just the start of of things to take off.

Frontier airlines offers direct flights from Minot to Denver Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
