The anti smoking measure would prohibit smoking, including the use of electronic smoking devices, in public places and most places of employment, including certain outdoor areas. Our poll of 625 state residents found that 67 percent favor the smoking prohibition while only 28 percent are opposed. Those in favor of limiting smoking cross all demographic lines: no matter the place of residence, male or female or political party affiliation.
Looking back at a few of our other races… we thought we`d check to see what the likability factor is for six of our 2012 candidates.
Maybe attack ads have affected the voters about the Senate race, but neither candidate has a favorable rating above 50 percent. Heidi Heitkamp is viewed as favorable by 45 percent of those polled and her unfavorable rating is 36 percent. On the other side of the race, Rick Berg is seen as favorable by 41 percent of those polled and unfavorable by 39 percent. Neither candidate should find those numbers pleasing.
In the house race, Kevin Cramer is viewed as favorable by 43 percent and unfavorable by 24 percent. His opponent Pam Gulleson is seen as favorable by 32 percent and unfavorable by 18. Both candidates have big numbers who view them in a neutral sense.
Sitting governor Jack Dalrymple is well liked buy a huge number of people. His favorable rating is 61 percent and his unfavorable rating is only 10 percent. His challenger, Ryan Taylor, has numbers of 34 favorable and 17 unfavorable.
The numbers don`t necessarily turn into votes, but they are interesting.
That`s our NBC North Dakota News polls for this year. We hope you enjoyed the information and that it resulted in good discussions across the state.
