Early Voting Underway | Video

The days are counting down for early voting in Minot. It`s been a record year for casting early ballots in Ward County. More than 2,000 ballots have been collected at this point, that’s over a hundred more than the previous high and the polls are averaging close to 600 people per day.

Election officials know the importance of giving every person a chance to vote.

“This just gives them one more chance to be able to cast the ballot on their time instead of our time. So people like that, again they miss the long lines at the polls and that speeds up the progress for them as well”, said Ward County Auditor Devra Smestad.

Smestad wants to remind voters to bring a valid photo ID with them when they come to vote.
