Main Street Minute: Peacock Alley, Meriwether Trade and Kittson on 3rd | Video

Retha Colclasure | 10/29/2012

Bismarck and Mandan are growing quickly and businesses are opening, expanding, renovating, and doing just about anything else you can imagine.

Peacock Alley has a lot of history in downtown Bismarck and owner Dale Zimmerman is trying to restore some of it. He`s made some major changes and some minor ones to bring the restaurant and bar back to its original footprint. A kitchen renovation, and updates to the Langer Room top off the list of improvements, at least for now.

One thing that won`t change: The 101 year old original tile floors in the dining room.

A new gift shop in Mandan promises to have something for everyone`s taste, style, and budget. The Meriwether Trade and Gift Shop is at 116 East Main Street in Mandan. It`s owned and managed by Scott and Roma Newton, who recently moved to Mandan from Arizona.

The store offers memorabilia, gifts, household items, tshirts, purses, jewelry and more.

And a Grand Forks women`s boutique is now open in Bismarck. Kittson on 3rd opened last week. We`ll show you much more about what they have to offer when Jim Christiansen takes us inside, on Inside Business tomorrow.
