Mandan Landfill Fire | Video

Multiple fire crews including Mandan Rural, Mandan City, Bismarck Rural and Mandan Public Works employees were called to a fire at the Mandan Landfill last night. The blaze started around 9:30 and quickly spread through most of the landfill.

Water alone wasn`t enough to contain the fire, so they called in trucks full of dirt to try to put it out.

According to Mandan City Fire Captain Patrick Martin, Mandan City Fire was released from the scene at 3:15 this morning.

The cause of the fire isn`t known at this time. The landfill is closed today, and will remain closed until Monday at 8:00 a.m. Household garbage loads will still be allowed to dump at the landfill on Friday and Saturday.

There won`t be any interruption to regularly scheduled garbage pickup.
