For Katie DeLorme and Mary Helen Hasby, they both operate their own businesses and with years of hard work, these women are among many others who are experiencing success in the business world.
"A woman in business these days, it has a few components to it. Hard work is one of them. A successful product is another one. Employees, I have the best employees ever and that contributes to the overall success of the company," said Cookies For You owner Mary Helen Hasby.
Hasby is no stranger to a successful business, she has been dishing up sweet treats for 21 years. But she says that you always have to start at the beginning.
Just across the street, another woman entered into the working world about four years ago.
"It`s always kinda stressful and nerve-wracking opening a new business but it`s been positive since we opened. Day one, up until now and it`s been great," said co-owner of La Di Da, Katie DeLorme.
According to the 2007 Survey Of Business Owners, 25 percent of businesses are owned by women and the numbers are still rising.
It`s constantly growing, I`m just in here looking at all the artists in here that I have in the store and actually I would say, a majority of the artists I carry in my store, are women. So that`s a woman owned business right there," said DeLorme.
North Dakota will continue to be recognized for it`s economic growth.
