Counties Discuss Oil Issues | Video

Rene Thibault | 10/18/2012

The North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties met in Minot today. Eighteen oil and gas producing counties met to talk about the oil related issues their communities are dealing with. Some of those include public safety, emergency services, and road infrastructure.

It may take time, but the Association knows the problems will be taken care of.

“Today was about communicating with each other in trying to solve some of these issues. It`s going to take some additional state funding, it`s going to take some local planning, and some local involvement. And also some patience”, said Executive Director Vicky Steiner.

Thanks to the Bakken oil boom, North Dakota went from the number nine oil producing state in the country, to number two.
