Bismarck Man Cleans Up Selling Old BBQ Sauce | Video

A Bismarck man made a big profit by hanging onto something that outlived its usefulness. Mort Bank sold a one-gallon jug of McJordan BBQ sauce on eBay for $9,995. Bank used to own a McDonald`s franchise and held onto the sauce after a Michael Jordan burger promotion in 1992. He says he believes the bottle is the last of its kind in existence.

The winning bidder is from Chicago, but Bank says he doesn`t recommend eating it.

"I wouldn`t want to open it up and invite some friends over and say, `we`re going to celebrate and have some ribs with some 20-year-old barbecue sauce`. That probably wouldn`t make me very popular with my friends or relatives," Bank said.

The McJordan sauce has an expiration date of December 8, 1992. Bank says he plans to split the money with his daughter, who helped him post the auction listing.
