Hay Bales In Rights of Way Need to be Removed by November 1

| 10/15/2012

The North Dakota Department of Transportation is reminding producers and ranchers to remove hay bales from highway rights of way by next month. The bales need to be removed for snow management and safety reasons. Bales remaining on rights of way by November 1 will be removed by the District Engineer.

The NDDOT says that North Dakota Century Code prohibits hay from being placed in the right-of-way except on the outer edge. Large round bales must not be placed on in-slopes or within 60 feet from the outside edge of the driving lane.
