Oil executives spent time away from the field today to network with other oil companies.

The first ever Magic City Energy Expo kicked off today at the State Fair Center.

Oil executives are learning more about how to do business in the oil patch.

They’re also getting their hands on some of the latest oil technology.

With western North Dakota at the center of the oil boom, event coordinators are hoping to improve the quality of life for oil workers in Minot.

"Other places are set up more in a man camp fashion and other things and they don`t have the other amenities that Minot has to offer that`s the main importance that we want to show that this is the gateway to the Bakken,” said Magic City Expo Owner and Manager Zach Zimny. “This is a place you can start and move on."
