Stark County Case Overload | Video

Alex Hagan | 10/4/2012

Stark County court prosecutors say their hands are full. The States Attorney`s office has asked for funds to hire another attorney to help with the case overload.

Crime has gone up in the county, both misdemeanors and felonies. Court staff has had to work overtime to keep up.

"The nature of the cases has changed so significantly, that we`re concerned that we`re not going to be able to keep up with the lesser cases because of the number of hours it takes to address the more complicated cases," said Stark County State`s Attorney Tom Henning.

Henning went before the Stark County Commission this week to ask for the funding.
