Fall Used Book Sale | Video

Joel Porter | 10/4/2012

The Bismarck Public Library is set for its largest fundraiser of the year. Friends of the Library have spent the week sorting hundreds of boxes of books, movies, music and art for the Fall Used Book Sale. Last year, the two book sales generated nearly $50,000.

Items for sale are copies that were pulled from bookshelves, but the majority are donations from users.

"When we open at 7:00 a.m., we have a line going up the stairs and outside. I`d say 100-120 people are usually in line waiting to get in at 7:00 a.m.," said library assistant director Mary Jane Schmaltz.

Books will sell for one dollar a pound. The book sale will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
