Muddy Road Conditions | Video

Jenny Castro | 10/3/2012

Any place where there was dirt, there`s now mud, and that`s a problem for residents living in the temporary FEMA housing sites.

It`s been several months since a heavy rain and these residents know from previous rainfalls that the mud can be very difficult to drive through. Tow truck companies have had many calls out here in the past and it`s mostly from smaller vehicles that have had to park in the mud and vehicles that have slipped into the ditch.

“I`d say almost any time it rains we got at least one call of somebody stuck out there, we do quite a lot out there, jump starts and everything for them,” said Paul Peterson of R & J’s Towing in Ruthville.

Construction sites around the area were also quiet today. Most of these are surrounded by dirt and have eased back work with these wet conditions.

Ole Olson at Olson`s Towing said that since many people left work before the heavy rain started, they`re expected to get more calls from the FEMA trailer site either Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
