Fatal Weekend Crashes

Two fatal car crashes occurred yesterday in McKenzie and Mountrail Counties. Brandon Bunnell, 29, of New Town was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle while trying to pass a freightliner on Highway 1804 at 2:40 in the afternoon. Bunnell was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead after being ejected from his motorcycle.

The second fatality happened on Highway 22 south of Mandaree at around 6:30 in the morning. A Dodge pickup driven by Jesse Douty, 36, struck the trailer of a truck before exiting the roadway.

Douty was transported to the McKenzie County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
