NE Bypass Open in Minot

Motorists travelling through Minot will now be able to use the new Northeast Bypass. This afternoon, the intersection at 27th St. NE and 46th Ave. NE was resigned to reflect the change.

"With new stop signs in place for northbound and southbound traffic at this intersection we would urge drivers to please pay close attention to this change," said Jeff McElwain, project engineer for the 55th Street NE Bypass/Bridge. "With the bypass now open to traffic this becomes the dominant arterial road in northeast Minot, much like the U.S. Highway 83 bypass on the northwest side of town."

The official ribbon cutting for the seven mile road will be on October 3.

Crews are still working on the bridge portion of the project, which is expected to be completed next year.
