LM Wind Layoffs

Valley News Live | 9/26/2012

A Grand Forks manufacturer will layoff over 300 employees. LM Wind Power is citing reduced demand resulting from non-renewal of the Production Tax Credit for wind sector for the job reductions.

About 200 full-time manufacturing employees, 15 administrative staff and approximately 130 temporary workers and contractors will be impacted.

The company says wherever possible they have tried to minimize impacts on its permanent workforce and to retain employment by devising more flexible solutions including hiring employees on a temporary or contract basis to accommodate planned change.
