Fill the Boot | Video

Firefighters are collecting donations for their annual "Fill the Boot" campaign. Members of the Bismarck Fire Department are at WalMarts in Bismarck asking shoppers to help them fill their boots with money. The money raised will help local individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy related diseases.

The campaign is a 50 year tradition that was started by a couple of firefighters in Nevada.

"They help out quite a bit that`s all the research is done is mostly done through donations of some form of another either the telethon or fun drives like this or something like that," said Captain Robert Melhoff from the Bismarck Fire Department.

The Bismarck Fire Department was unable to put on a campaign last year because of the flood.
