Minot State University president, Dr. David Fuller, announced Wednesday his intent to retire from his position as the university president of Minot State University and Dakota College at Bottineau. Dr. Fuller`s retirement won`t go into effect until June of 2014.

The year and a half time frame will allow for preparations and a smooth transition for his successor. Dr. Fuller is currently in his eighth year as university president and is looking forward to serving the university from now until his retirement.

“I`ve reached a point where I think I`ve accomplished a great deal, I think it`s probably time to move on and allow someone else to come in and do things and I`m very appreciative of this campus and what it`s done for me and the support we`ve received. Nancy and I have felt very welcomed and we love being here and we`ll love being here for the next year and a half,” said Dr. Fuller.

Dr. Fuller said he`s also anticipating dealing with the university`s flood related issues and planning for the university`s 100th year coming up
