Jessica Roose | 9/19/2012

It`s been seven years in the making, but on Friday the writer and director of a new movie centered around North Dakota will finally get to see his hard work on the big screen in Bismarck. The movie, "Last Summer for Boys" is about a North Dakota boy who decides he is not going to take over the family farm. He gets a degree and a job in Minneapolis, but after something happens to him he ends up back on the farm.

The film`s director, Nathan Anderson, says he wanted to make a movie that showed the state the way he remembers it, growing up.

"It`s set in North Dakota, there are North Dakotans in this movie. So for me it`s, North Dakotans will get it. But I want people who have maybe never been to the state of North Dakota or don`t know much about North Dakota to watch this movie and go hey North Dakota is a cool little state."

"Last Summer for Boys" will premiere at 7:00 Friday evening and will continue to air at the Grand Theatres for at least a week.

Anderson says they hope to soon release the movies in other cities around North Dakota as well.
