University of Mary Expanding | Video

The University of Mary says it`s entering the public phase of a $40 million capital campaign. So far, $13 million has already been committed to a project to build more on campus housing, renovate and enhance athletic facilities, expand health care programs and build a new student center.

University President Father James Shea says, "This student campus center is going to be a place located between the McDowell Activity Center and the Leach Field House. We want it to be a hub for gathering and interaction, for students who live on campus and those who don`t. Spaces will be flexible and adaptable for various uses and students can always be connected with their computers, phones, with the faculty and their friends."

Shea says the administration chose that spot because it is in the center of campus and most students walk past there more than once a day.
