Volcano Erupts Near God`s Child Project | Video

A precarious situation for the Guatemala headquarters of the Bismarck-based God`s Child Project, founded by North Dakota native Patrick Atkinson. A volcanic eruption near the town of Antigua, Guatemala has put the center`s buildings, and of course, the children it serves, in danger.

Atkinson says Volcano Fuego, which is six miles from the God`s Child complex, is fully erupting, prompting the evacuation of tens of thousands of people and the implementation of the project`s disaster emergency plan.
