Grafton Man Injured in Truck/Train Crash

A Grafton man was injured this morning after his farm truck hit a NPRR train near Forest River, ND. Richard Aguilar, 45, was driving north on a county gravel road just before 11:00 when he approached the marked railroad crossing. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Aguilar`s truck didn`t slow down as it approached the crossing.

The train arrived as Aguilar started to cross the tracks, it hit the truck on the driver`s side. Some of the locomotives at the front of the train were damaged and derailed. Some of the railroad tracks in the area were damaged as well.

The crash is under investigation by the NDHP.
