Eleven Years Later | Video

It`s hard to believe it`s been eleven years since the attacks that changed our country forever. North Dakota and the rest of the country took time to remember those who were lost on that tragic day.

Governor Jack Dalrymple, in accordance with a presidential proclamation, has declared today Patriot Day and a Day of Service and Remembrance, to remember the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks.

The flags at the capitol and across the state are being flown at half staff and will remain that way until sunset.

In Washington President Obama participated in a moment of silence on the white house lawn and attended a ceremony at the pentagon.

"So as painful as this day is and always will be, it leaves us with a lesson that no single event can ever destroy who we are."
