Secretary of State Resumes Normal Office Hours

Starting next week, the Secretary of State`s Office will resume their normal office hours. On Tuesday, September 4, the office will once again be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hours were changed in April from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. so the staff could process documents.

According to the office, because of the shortened hours, they were able to reduce the turnaround time for business registrations from six to two weeks.

Since the beginning of the year, the office has issued licenses to 2,400 new contractors. There are currently 11,354 active contractors, an increase of 51 percent from last year.
