St. Alexius Opening New Clinic | Video

St. Alexius has one clinic in Mandan and today the hospital announced it`s going to break ground on another one next week. This morning, administrators announced construction of a 22,000 square foot clinic at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Old Red Trail.

President and CEO Gary Miller says the family practice clinic in Mandan isn`t big enough to meet the city`s needs. He says that clinic will remain open.

The new clinic will feature six primary care providers, as well as a drive-thru retail pharmacy.

"Now with the new school being proposed up in this area and also with what`s my understanding that Walmart moving in next door, we feel that we`re in a prime location for high traffic," said Vice President of Outreach Services Kurt Waldbillig.

St. Alexius will be breaking ground on the new clinic next Thursday. The building is estimated to cost eight million dollars.

It`s expected to be completed by early 2014.
