Grass Fire Near Amidon

The U.S. Forest Service is fighting an estimated 75 acre fire located approximately 15 miles west-northwest of Amidon on the Dakota Prairie Grasslands. The Deep Creek 12 fire was reported early this morning and is burning grass and sage brush. No structures are threatened.

The Amidon Fire Protection District along with engines and a hand crew from the Dakota Prairie Grasslands, North Dakota Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service will be on the scene today to battle the fire.
