Construction continues on Highway 83 on the north part of Bismarck and that`s giving drivers headaches. The Department of Transportation is making changes the busy road such as fixing potholes, pavement markings, and curbs.

The construction is causing plenty of traffic on the road where many commuters go back and forth. However the DOT says the project is necessary.

"All the pavement markings if anybody has noticed, they need repair and replacement and we`re going to do that on this job. All the joints will be resealed. It keeps the water out of the pavement and you know lessens deterioration so it`s kind of a repair that you periodically got to do and hopefully it will last a long time," said Doug Fercho with the Department of Transportation.

DOT workers say they plan to have the project done in late September.
