Looking For Local Volunteers | Video

Jenny Castro | 8/14/2012

Hope Village plans to keep the flood recovery efforts going into the winter. However, their volunteer housing will shut down for that time period and that means the inflow of volunteers won`t be as strong for those months.

To pick up the slack, the Minot Area Community foundation is trying to organize groups of Hope Builders. This will be local groups of volunteers working on flood recovery.

Right now, they`re looking for any group or organization of four to 10 people who would like to get together on a certain date or dates to help Hope Village keep the work going in the winter.

"By doing outreach from our local community we can continue the process and expedite the process of homes being rebuilt. So for those who are expecting their homes to be rebuilt and needing the repairs it`s so worthwhile for organizations and groups to volunteer for Hope Village,” says Kristi Berg of the Minot Area Community Foundation.

If you`re interested in getting a group together this winter, contact Kristi Berg with the Minot Area Community Foundation at 701-852-1840.
