Chase Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison

A Mandan woman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for continuous sex abuse of a child, a Class AA Felony. Jenelle Chase, 34, was found guilty of sexually abusing a 12 year old boy who was under her care for over a year and a half.

Chase is a mother of two and pleaded in court from a hand-written letter saying she wants to be given a chance and loves her children very much.

Although Chase and her lawyer asked for a lighter sentence, Judge Feland replied, "That child`s life is forever altered."

Chase will also have to serve five years of probation, is required to register as a sex offender and is not allowed near children under 18.
