City of Linton Goes Smoke-Free

| 8/8/2012

Starting September 1, the city of Linton will be smoke-free. On Monday, the city council voted to adopt an ordinance that makes all indoor public places smoke-free. Linton is the tenth city in North Dakota to pass a smoke-free ordinance.

Advocates for smoke-free areas were pleased with the decision.

"We`ve made great progress, but we have a lot more work to do to before all North Dakotans are protected from the dangers of tobacco," said North Dakota Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control Policy Director Jeanne Prom.

The city of Lisbon will also go smoke-free on September 1.
