Local Artist Brings Color to Trinity Residents | Video

Sarahbeth Ackerman | 8/2/2012

For Wendy Voeller, it started as a hobby, but her passion for art soon turned into a career.

"Residents get my artwork for free so unless something is already spoken for or already bought or have other plans for it. If they are moved by it they get it and I think that`s what artwork is all about."

For the past two years, Voeller volunteers and draws cartoons for the residents at Trinity Homes.

"We concentrate on cartoons because its relaxing to do that for me. And also we laugh and I think laughter is really important."

Not only does Wendy bring color to Trinity Homes but she brings smiles to the residents` faces.

"One of the many blessing that they have given me was pushing me outside my comfort zone. Sometimes that`s asking me to draw something that I would never think of drawing or something that I`ve never drawn before and then we laugh about it."

And when its all said and done, these people brought color to her life.
