Maclean Bottoms Boat Ramp to Reopen

| 7/27/2012

A popular boat ramp south of Bismarck will reopen next week. Maclean Bottoms boat ramp will open on Wednesday, August 1 following the completion of a major shoreline stabilization project by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department and Burleigh County Park Board.

The area will be only open for day-use only and no camping is allowed. About 500 feet immediate to the shoreline is still fenced off and shore access is prohibited.

Maclean Bottoms was closed last summer due to flooding, was reopened for a short time, then closed again because of accelerated erosion and loss of shoreline.

The Game and Fish Department says that they are working with the park board to rebuild the Kimball Bottoms (Desert) boat ramp. That project is expected to be completed later this year.
