Minot Man to Stand Trial in Wisconsin

| 7/24/2012

A judge has ordered a Minot man accused of killing his three daughters to stand trial in Wisconsin. Aaron Schaffhausen, 34, is charged with three counts of first degree intentional homicide in the deaths of Amara, 11, Sophie, 8 and Cecelia, 5.

Each count carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison. Schaffhausen is being held on two million dollars bond. Schaffhausen moved to Minot following a divorce from the girls` mother in January.

He made an unexpected visit to their home in River Falls while his ex-wife was at work but she agreed to let him see the children as long as he was gone by the time she got home.

Schaffhausen turned himself in to police 30 minutes after the children`s bodies were discovered.
