Bismarck Parking Fines Increase on Monday | Video

Joel Porter | 7/15/2012

Drivers in downtown Bismarck will soon have to pay a little bit more for parking tickets. Tougher penalties are coming for those who overstay their welcome in a given parking space.

Starting on July 16, fines across the board for parking tickets will increase by five dollars.

The Bismarck Downtown Parking Task Force and the Downtown Business Association recommended the tougher penalties at last month`s meeting. Which means drivers who are ticketed for the first time for parking over the time limit will be issued a $15 citation.

The police department enforces the zone from Washington Street to 12th street and from Main Avenue to Avenue B.
