St. Joseph`s Hospital Administrators in Dickinson are planning to break ground for a new hospital. The booming community is bringing more patients through the door as well as higher trauma in emergencies. Administrators say they plan to build a new medical office building before constructing a new hospital.

Hospital employees say a new hospital has been something the city needs for a while now.

"Our E.R. Is extremely busy, it`s full most of the time almost everyday. So it`s just the design and structure of our hospital has to change, that`s the biggest reason we need a different hospital," said Executive Director of Mission Facilities Dennis Cannon.

Administrators say they hope to break ground late summer or early fall.
