Information Released About Billings County Shooting

Authorities have released information about the death of a man following a confrontation with police on Tuesday afternoon in Billings County. Officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Kyle Quackenbush, 26, at a residence north of Belfield. The warrant was issued on a charge of Aggravated Assult.

Quackenbush got in a confrontation with the officers and aimed a rifle at them. The officers responded with deadly force. Quackenbush was pronounced dead on the scene.

A Dickinson Police officer has been placed on administrative leave, which is customary with these situations.

A review by the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is pending.
