Thousands Cool Off During Heat Wave | Video

Joel Porter | 7/1/2012

The heat wave across western North Dakota continues. On Sunday afternoon Keelboat Park in Bismarck was packed as boat trailers and jet skis backed into the water.

Plenty of families were cooling off in the river and enjoying the sun. On the first day of July, temps rose once again into the 90s. Something that`s become the norm over the past week.

In the past week, we`ve had five days in which the temp rose to at least 89.

"Just enjoy the day. Relax. Enjoy the water a little bit," Dan Schloer of Mandan said.

"The way it`s been going, I think it`s going to be a really good summer. Compared to how it`s been tehlast few years, we`re due for it. We really are," Jacob Baumeister of Bismarck said.

Open parking spaces at the boat ramp were hard to find this weekend.
