You may have noticed that some construction going on around town, specifically on curbs near the downtown area. Design & Construction Engineer Dale Heinert says its part of a street maintenance project the city is doing to improve the roadways in twelve areas of town.

Making the curbs assessable for those with disabilities is just phase one of that project.

The city is spending $4.6 million on the project.

"Three-point-five million will be assessed and the rest will be subsidized with some local taxes and sales taxes," Heinert said.

He expects the projects to be completed by August of next year.
