Primary Election Results Certified | Video

Jessica Roose | 6/25/2012

The results from this month`s primary election have officially been certified by the Secretary of State. The State Canvassing Committee met this afternoon to verify the results from the 53 counties.

There will be a re-count in District 28 on the Republican side in the race for the state house seat. The candidates in second and third place fell within one percent of each other, which triggers an automatic re-count.

"When we receive the recounts from District 28, we will have to meet again," said North Dakota Secretary of State Al Jaeger.

The Libertarian race for Governor was not certified. The Lieutenant Governor running with him did not get the proper paperwork filed in time to be included on the ballot. Now the Secretary of State and Attorney General will discuss whether he can appear on the general election ballot without a Lt. Governor.
