Minot Flood: One Year Later | Video

| 6/22/2012

It`s been one year since water began to break through the dikes in Minot at the start of a summer that would devastate the lives of thousands of residents. The Souris River would eventually crest at over 1,561 feet at the Broadway bridge on June 25.

It left behind a trail of devastation, destroying homes, uprooting families and wiping out parks. One year later, the city is looking forward, instead of back.

Today Minot officials are kicking off a Weekend of Hope celebrating the re-opening of Oak Park, and celebrating all that the city has done to recover.

We`ll have more coverage of those events later tonight.
