Grenstiner Waives Preliminary Hearing | Video

Retha Colclasure | 6/19/2012

A Bismarck man accused of killing his mother in March appeared in court this morning. Dean Grenstiner, 47, is accused of AA Felony Murder after Anne Grenstiner`s body was found in her home by her niece. He also faces a felony theft charge for taking her car, which was later found at a bar in Fargo.

Today, Grenstiner waived a preliminary hearing. His attorney requested that they reschedule his arraignment until after an independent psychological evaluation is completed on Grenstiner. That`s because a psychiatrist at the state hospital diagnosed Grenstiner with something he had never been diagnosed with before.

When that hearing is held, sometime within the next 30 to 45 days, Grenstiner will enter a plea.
