Furnace Replacement Program

| 6/19/2012

Low-income homeowners in Ward County who need to replace their flood-damaged furnaces and insulation may be eligible for assistance. The disaster furnace replacement program is an effort that involves the North Dakota Department of Human Services, Community Action Partnership - Minot Region and Ward County Social Services.

"It can be difficult to gauge a community`s recovery needs following a disaster," said Carol Cartledge, director of Economic Assistance Policy for the North Dakota Department of Human Services. "We created this program to help qualifying low-income homeowners, and there are resources still available to help."

So far, the program has helped 17 households. To qualify, the homeowner must first qualify for the state Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. A household can earn up to 60 percent of the state median income, which is about $37,385 per year for a family of three.
