Best of the Road Reviewers Coming to Mandan July 6-7

Reviewers for a national contest will be coming to Mandan on July 6-7. Reviewers for the "2012 Best of the Road Rally" contest sponsored by Rand McNally and USA Today will be visiting finalists nominated in five categories between now and July 13. Mandan is a finalist in the "Most Patriotic City" category.

According to the City of Mandan, community leaders were notified that the two person review team will be in Mandan on July 6-7. There is a possibility that the team could arrive in time for the city`s Fourth of July festivities.

Mandan businesses and residents are encouraged to prepare by sprucing up properties, displaying the American flag and decorating in red, white and blue. In the coming weeks, there will be more information about how people can prepare for the visit.

Winning towns will be announced at the annual Destination Marketing Association International Conference in Seattle. They will also be featured in the Rand McNally 2014 Road Atlas. Participating cities can also expect to receive coverage in USA Today and on the Travel Channel.
