Heritage Plaza Flea Market | Video

Many shoppers came out to the Heritage Plaza Flea Market at Dykshoorn Park in Mandan today to buy some rare antiques or a last-minute Father`s Day gift. Nearly 30 vendors were selling items ranging from typewriters to toys. While parents shopped, kids stayed entertained by getting their faces painted.

Shoppers could find new hand-made clothing and jewelry at the flea market. There were even some one dollar bargain tables.

"This is our very first flea market out of four that were going to be doing and I think this is something Mandan needs," said Sue Hoffman, Board Member of the Heritage Plaza Foundation. "We need to bring people downtown to say, `Hey there is business down here.`"

The next Heritage Plaza flea markets are scheduled for July 14, August 11 and September 8 from 8:00 to 4:00.

All the proceeds from the flea market will go toward the restoration of the Heritage Plaza. Hoffman expects more than 40 vendors next month.
